Why? 

1. It would allow and adult to claim authority over a child by signing a simple caregiver’s authorization affidavit, with no background check, court oversight, or requirement for verification.

2. It diminishes the authority of parents to make critical decisions regarding their children’s education, medical care, and well-being.

2. Allows Politicians to Seize Power from Citizens By drawing districts safe guaranteeing their reelection. That‘s not democracy- that’s entrenchment

3.Eliminates Fair & Competitive Districts

Allows gerrrymandering, which disproportionately harms communities of color, reduces competitive elections, and erodes accountability. Strips constitutional protections that currently ensure communities are kept whole and that maps are not drawn to favor political parties or incumbents.
